PRIVACY POLICY
KeyHaus is an app for keeping your cars, their paperwork and your plans for them in one place. This policy explains what information the KeyHaus app uses, why, who else is involved, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.
WHO WE ARE
KeyHaus is made by KeyHaus LLC ("KeyHaus", "we", "us"). You can reach us any time at support@keyhausgarage.com.
WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

The app asks your permission before it first uses your location, camera, photos, microphone or notifications. You can change these any time in your phone's Settings.
OUTSIDE SERVICES
Some features rely on other companies. They receive only what the feature needs:
- Car photos: Wikipedia / Wikimedia and Openverse receive the make and model you entered to find a stock photo of your car.
- Background removal: when you tap Remove background, that photo is sent to remove.bg, which returns the cut-out car.
- Receipt reading: when it's turned on and you add a receipt, the receipt image and basic car details (year, make, model, VIN, mileage) are sent to our receipt service and the AI provider it uses to read the receipt. During the beta this feature may run in demo mode, which sends nothing.
- Maps and routes: Apple Maps (or Google Maps on Android) shows the map. Your location and route points are sent to OpenStreetMap-based services to plan routes and find places like gas stations. We plan to move to a commercial map provider before the public launch and will update this list.
- App distribution: if you test KeyHaus through Apple TestFlight or Google Play testing, Apple or Google may share crash reports and feedback you choose to send.
Each of these companies handles information under its own privacy policy. We choose services we trust and send only what's needed.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't show ads or share your information with advertisers.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't use your location in the background when you aren't using navigation.
SHARED GARAGES
Each car can be marked Shared or Private. Today this is a setting only. When public garage profiles arrive, only cars you mark Shared, and only the details you choose to show, will be visible to others. Titles, registrations, insurance cards, bills of sale and loan papers are always private and are never shown on a shared garage.
STORAGE AND SECURITY
During the beta, your garage is stored only on your device, protected by your phone's own security. If you delete the app, that information is deleted with it. When we add accounts and cloud backup, your data will be encrypted in transit and at rest, sensitive documents will get extra protection, and we'll update this policy before that launches.
KEEPING AND DELETING YOUR INFORMATION
You're in control. Deleting a document, record, drive or car in the app removes it from your phone, and deleting a car also cancels its reminders. To delete everything, delete the app. If you've sent us anything by email, ask and we'll delete it.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU), you may have the right to know what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email support@keyhausgarage.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
CHILDREN
KeyHaus isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We'll update this page when the app changes how it uses information, and change the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
